The first of an expected hundred plus entries for the prestigious Port City Raceway “Outlaw Nationals” has been received and it is none other than Converse, Indiana native of Andrew Peters. Peters, hailing from the state of Indiana means that the driver of the #94 Metric Cycles powered Sawyer Chassis is eligible for the $13,000 out of state prize.
A nationally known threat at such races like the $5,000 to win High Banks Hustle and $5,000 to win Corn Husker Nationals, Peters is always expected to shine when big money is on the line. The Converse native has already grabbed several wins this season at his home track of US24 Speedway in Logansport, Indiana, as well as one POWRi Micro victory back in April at the Kokomo Speedway.
Peters sought action at the Tulsa, Oklahoma 1/8th mile way back in March when the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series competed at the high banked track along with winged outlaw micros. Motor problems halted his night and took the #94 out of contention and due for a long drive back to the “Hoosier State.”
Peters, however, will now return to PCR in October with a much bigger goal in sight of taking home what could be the biggest win of his entire career. Competition and battle will be tough with the caliber of drivers this event is expected to bring in, but Peters should be one of the top drivers near the front and battling for the big money.
Pre-Entry for the “Outlaw Nationals” will remain open until October 1st with it being $150, but after the first it will jump to $200. Stars like Christopher Bell, Shane Stewart, and Rico Abreu are already saying they will show at this huge event, will you? Remember, Oklahoma natives can win $11,000 while any out of state driver can grab $13,000 plus a maximum of $5,000 in lap sponsor money.
